Here's a word from our label: "Adding to list of accolades that's going through the roof, Augie March won the second annual Australian Music Prize (AMP) in Sydney last night, collecting a cool $25,000 cash prize along with the award. The guys also announced they've just signed a North American record deal for the release of 'Moo, You Bloody Choir' in June with Jive/Zomba."

"Judged by a panel made up of respected industry personnel across media, retail and established artists, the AMP award presented to Augie March last night recognises the musical excellence and outstanding creativity of their critically acclaimed third studio album 'Moo, You Bloody Choir'.

The band, who picked up $25,000 in cash prize money along with the prize, also made a big announcement when collecting the award - they'll be joining the home of Justin Timberlake, Pink and Tool when they release their album in the US through Jive/ Zomba later this year.

This news comes after an extraordinary 12 months for Augie, whose album 'Moo, You Bloody Choir' entered the national ARIA chart at #10 on release back in March 2006, was nominated for four ARIA Awards including Album of The Year and is just about to crack Platinum sales.

The lead single from the album, 'One Crowded Hour', also took out the #1 spot on the Triple J Hottest 100, as voted by listeners and has been on playlists around the country since it's release last year.

Augie March are currently touring the country on their Cold Acre Tour - make sure you get along and see them before they disappear to the US."
